Klang Valley, known as the Greater Kuala Lumpur, holds many offices, industries, government buildings and other important landmarks. Thus, the region needs a continuous upgrade to cater to its residents. As 2022 gears up to be the new beginning post-pandemic, many new projects are launched to give the area a serious upgrade.

Here are 3 such upgrades that will help Klang Valley’s infrastructure and create jobs for the people living there

  1. Xin Hwa will build an e-fulfilment centre in Shah Alam

Xin Hwa Holdings Berhad, Xin Hwa in short, is a logistics facility in Shah Alam. Currently, it owns 5 warehouses in Johor and each in Klang, Shah Alam and Kuantan. With the current logistic demand in mind, the company has invested RM100 million to build an e-fulfilment centre in Shah Alam.

The establishment is a purpose-built building to facilitate e-commerce logistics and support the e-commerce market. Connected to a major highway, ELITA, the centre includes a 7 storey office and a 3 storey warehouse with a built-up area of 300,000 sqft.

On 15 March 2022, Xin Hwa stated that the centre is a timely launch as the Malaysian logistic industry is experiencing a warehouse space shortage. The pandemic era has shifted many consumers from physical to online shopping, which has caused supply disruption. Online businesses need space to store large volumes of small-sized packages, and the e-fulfilment centre will help them secure the much needed extra storage with their facility.

‘This facility is part of Xin Hwa’s warehouse capacity expansion strategy, which aims to capitalise on rising demand for warehousing space as a result of supply chain interruptions and the growth of online trading activities.’

‘More importantly, this establishment will create more high-value jobs for Malaysians while providing the country an ideal platform to facilitate the rapid growth of e-commerce,’ the company said in a statement.

  2. Gabungan AQRS Berhad obtained RM31.85 million worth of pipe relining work in Klang

Gabungan AQRS Berhad (GBG) is a niche lifestyle property developer and an integrated construction and engineering service provider. On 21 March 2022, its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gabungan Strategik Sdn Bhd, obtained an RM31.85 million worth subcontract from Syarikat Muhibbah Perniagaan Dan Pembinaan Sdn Bhd.

As per the contract, Gabungan has to perform sewer pipe relining works in Klang and Kuala Langat. The project includes excavation and pipe jacking work under sub-package 2. The company has already started the construction on 23 March 2022 and expects to complete it by 22 March 2024.

  3. Advancecon bags a RM42.54 million construction project in Klang

Advancecon Holdings Bhd is an earthworks and civil engineering service specialist. On 16 March 2022, the company won a RM42.54 million worth construction project in Klang. The project was awarded to its wholly-owned unit, Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd (AISB), by Sime Darby Property (Bukit Raja) Sdn Bhd.

The proposed construction would involve conducting earthworks and other related assignments to develop Phase 2 of Bandar Bukit Raja, Kapar district. The company believes the project will positively impact the future earnings of the group. As such, they are financing the project with internally generated funds and external borrowings.

The work for the development has already started on 28 March 2022 and is expected to be completed on 27 August 2024.
