The declining tourism discouraged developers from launching new commercial properties, whereas the residential housing demand also suffered due to buyers’ negative sentiment. However, in 2022, things are turning around with the country’s gradual recovery.

Manufacturing Plant in Pahang
Alliance Steel (M) Sdn Bhd (ASSB) will invest RM5 billion to expand its manufacturing plant in Pahang. Steve Hujiulin, Alliance’s chief executive officer (CEO), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pahang’s state secretary, Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak, to confirm the deal.
Alliance particularly chose Pahang for the plant because the state is known for its rich iron and steel production. Alliance expects the manufacturing plant to increase Pahang’s steel production from 3.5 million tonnes to 10 million tonnes per year.
This will further create 3,000 job opportunities for Pahang residents, which will play a vital role in reviving the state’s economy.
